Charity fundraising is the main non-qualifying route. The BAA's official charity partner program, run through John Hancock, typically asks for a minimum of $5,000 or more per runner, and individual charities can set their own minimum higher. Applications open through each charity directly rather than through the BAA, so the timeline and competitiveness vary by cause. When does the 2027 Boston Marathon registration window open?
